Tokyo’s Darkest Extreme Metal Sound

Formed in 2016, Worship Pain is a Tokyo-based black metal band combining elements of hardcore and rock for a relentless, genre-defying sound. Featuring members from bands like Funeral Sutra, Swazönd, and Retch, Worship Pain has solidified their place in Japan’s underground scene. Their latest EP, Starless, Endless, was released on Bad Moon Rising and Bloodbath Records, showcasing their return to black metal roots. With recent performances alongside Spectral Wound in Taipei and an upcoming show with Mammon’s Throne, Worship Pain continues to carve out a unique place in the global extreme metal scene.
